About the position Tax Accountant (Part-Time, 100% Remote) Public Accounting (Small Firm); Must Have CPA/EA & UltraTax Exp. 30-40 hrs/wk Busy Season & 20 hrs/wk Non-Busy Season $40 -55/hr. + Benefits Navigator Recruiting is looking for a part-time Tax Accountant (who must be a CPA or EA) to work hybrid (if living in the southern Denver metro area) or 100% remotely remotely, and prepare business and individual tax returns (30-40 hours/week in busy season and 20 hours/week in the non-busy season) using UltraTax for a 4-employee 12 year-old CPA firm based in the south Denver Metro area. Of the tax returns this Tax Accountant will prepare, 65% of them are likely to be individual returns and 35% are likely to be business returns (mainly 1120S and 1065). The firm does prepare about 15 trusts as well. The firm does have a full-time Bookkeeper who is responsible for all bookkeeping for clients, however, the firm finds it helpful for the chosen Tax Accountant to understand bookkeeping and have some expeireence in bookkeeping. There may be a little bookkeeping involved in this position. This firm is seeking a self-starter who must possess attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Ideally, the chosen individual will be proficient with Microsoft Excel, UltraTax, QuickBooks, and have strong time-management, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years' experience in tax preparation. Responsibilities • Prepare individual and business tax reutrns and examine accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports • Research and correct financial account discrepancies • Create new processes to improve work flow efficiency • Report analysis and findings to management team • Research and assist with tax laws, audits / notices • Ability to prioritize work and work efficiently to ensure clients deadlines are met. Requirements • BS in Accounting or related field • CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) required • 3+ years' experience preparing individual and business tax returns in a public accounting environment • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools, such as Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite and UltraTax is required • Detail and deadline-oriented • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication skills Nice-to-haves • Familiarity with capital gains and trust returns is helpful Benefits • 3 weeks paid time off (vacation/sick) • a 401K • (7) paid holidays Apply tot his job
